Psychiatric Center Sct. Hans in Roskilde has now implemented Wavecare Sensory Technology in all of its Sensory Rooms.

With eight permanent sensory rooms and four mobile solutions, the center is among the frontrunners in integrating sensory stimulation and modulation into psychiatric care.

Creating consistent frameworks for treatment

With this expansion, the psychiatric hospital can now offer more consistent frameworks for sensory stimulation. The sensory rooms are designed to promote calm, provide a sense of safety, and support a more positive treatment experience – benefitting both patients and staff.

The staff has already started using the technology actively, and there is strong engagement from the clinical pioneers who see Wavecare’s system as an important tool in their daily work.

Positive results in forensic psychiatry

Neel Vang Murmann, Head Therapist at Psychiatric Center Sct. Hans, shares her experience:

“Our experiences with the Wavecare system for our forensic psychiatric patients are positive. Patients express that they find calmness when listening to the music and watching Wavecare’s videos, which can have a preventive effect on outwardly directed behavior. The staff also experiences it as a great resource to offer patients an alternative to acute pharmacological treatment. It is particularly beneficial that Wavecare has developed an app that allows patients to use the system on their own phones.”

Close collaboration with a patient-centered focus

Neel Vang Murmann also emphasizes the collaboration with Wavecare as a key factor:

“Wavecare provides a very professional and flexible service and makes a strong effort to understand our patient group, so the system can be integrated as a targeted treatment for each individual. You feel heard and understood in the collaboration, and it is clear that Wavecare delivers a product where patients are at the center.”

Strengthening an established partnership

Psychiatric Center Sct. Hans has previously benefitted from both WavecareTV and a single sensory room. With this expansion, the collaboration now continues on an even larger scale.

We would like to thank the Mental Health Services in the Capital Region of Denmark and especially Neel Vang Murmann for the strong and trustful collaboration that made this expansion possible. We look forward to continuing the journey of strengthening psychiatric care environments through sensory technology.
