Last week, Wavecare participated in Forum Vårdbyggnad in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The conference brings together professionals and decision makers focusing on the future of hospital architecture and the development of supportive and healing healthcare environments.

The programme offered valuable insights, hands on clinical experiences and forward looking perspectives within maternity and neonatal care. This is an area where Wavecare is proud to contribute as one of the early actors. With humility and deep respect for the field, we work to create calmer, safer and more supportive birthing environments through sound, light and nature scenes that promote oxytocin and support physiological birth.

We would like to thank the Forum Vårdbyggnad Board for a well curated programme that successfully combined research, clinical practice and practical solutions. A special thanks goes to project leader and midwife Anna Uhlin for sharing a powerful and heartfelt case about how a birth can suddenly change direction and how the process is experienced from beginning to end. She also provided valuable insight into how the Wavecare Sensory Delivery Room is used in daily clinical practice to create optimal conditions for both staff and the birthing person.

The day concluded with a site visit at Mälarsjukhuset in Eskilstuna, where we presented a Wavecare sensory birthing room to approximately 175 participants. This gave attendees a tangible experience of the room and a deeper understanding of how sensory birthing environments can support clinical workflows while enhancing calm and safety for both staff and the birthing person.

Thank you to everyone who participated, asked questions and shared their perspectives. We returned home with new insights, meaningful connections and a strong motivation to continue the dialogue on how hospital environments can better support both patients and healthcare professionals.
