In week 43, Wavecare joined a meaningful initiative to support Knæk Cancer – a national Danish campaign that raises funds for cancer research, treatment, and patient support. The initiative is a collaboration between TV2 and the Danish Cancer Society and brings people across Denmark together through local fundraising and community activities.
This year, we were deeply inspired by the heartfelt effort from Slagelse Forensic Psychiatry, where staff and patients across nine wards came together to walk, run, swim, and cycle in support of the cause.
Movement, Connection, and Mental Well-being
The initiative resonates strongly with Wavecares values- that movement, community, and mindfulness can strengthen both mental health and a sense of purpose.
To support their inspiring effort, Wavecare contributed both financially and physically, donating a total of 10,000 DKK to Slagelse Forensic Psychiatry’s fundraiser:
-
5,000 DKK as recognition of their engagement — donating 2 DKK per lap, regardless of activity.
-
5,000 DKK more from Wavecare’s internal challenge to walk, run, and cycle 100 km in five days, contributing 50 DKK for each kilometer completed.
This was never about competition — it was about connection. Through movement, we aimed to highlight how physical activity can create energy, balance, and calm — for both body and mind.
Together for a Meaningful Cause
As Knæk Cancer Week comes to an end, we look back on a project that combined movement, teamwork, and compassion for a meaningful purpose. Together with Slagelse Forensic Psychiatry, Wavecare helped raise 10,000 DKK for the fight against cancer, proving that even small steps can make a big difference.
A heartfelt thank you to Slagelse Forensic Psychiatry for your inspiring work and dedication. You’ve shown how movement can unite people, promote well-being, and support a cause that touches us all.
