In the near future, psychiatric departments across Denmark that utilize Wavecare Sensory Rooms will be able to offer patients access to our app, featuring full-length sensory room themes.
This initiative is a natural extension of Wavecare’s commitment to improving mental health care by providing calming and supportive environments – both within and beyond the hospital setting. Understanding the importance of continuity in care, Wavecare is offering this service completely free of charge.
Without this option, the road to recovery could become unnecessarily prolonged, as patients would lose access to the therapeutic benefits of sensory stimulation after discharge. To ensure the effectiveness of this initiative, a test group -alongside the 60 existing sensory rooms currently in operation -has been using the app over an extended period. One user specifically highlighted the profound impact of daily use, stating that it might have prevented a hospital readmission. This feedback underscores the vital role of sensory regulation in stabilizing mental well-being.
The app is user-friendly and can be accessed directly on a smartphone or tablet, with the option to connect it to a TV for an enhanced experience. At present, this offer is exclusively available to individuals who already use Wavecare Sensory Rooms, ensuring that patients can seamlessly continue their sensory treatment at home. To make access as simple as possible, each patient will receive a guide along with a barcode that is completely anonymous. There is no requirement to provide credit card information or any other personal details, ensuring privacy and ease of use. Wavecare remains dedicated to integrating technology with mental health support, helping patients maintain a sense of calm and stability, even beyond the hospital walls.
